Gül Özdinç Joined DEİK and Turkey – Austria Business Council

Upon its establishment in 1985, the Foreign Economic Relations Board of Turkey (DEİK) was assigned with the following tasks under the coordination of Ministry of Trade: to organize and manage the foreign economic relations of the Turkish private sector, in particular with respect to foreign trade, international investments, services, contracting and logistics; to analyze investment opportunities at home and abroad; to help boost the country’s exports, and to coordinate similar business development activities. DEİK, with its Institutions and individual members that represent Turkey’s business community, is a business diplomacy organization on a “voluntary basis”.

The purpose of the Business Council is to improve bilateral trade, joint investments, and technological cooperation, and to encourage collaboration in third countries. The Council’s further tasks are information of the respective business communities and the identification of potential areas of cooperation. The Council’s activities are focussed on the following main areas: energy, infrastructure projects, transport equipment, machine building, environmental technologies, agriculture-based industries, health, tourism, construction, and financing.
